PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) has developed its new adsorbent material in collaboration with the Center of Excellence on Petrochemical and Materials Technology (PETROMAT), a national-renown research center in the field of petrochemicals and materials.

A research team from GC’ s Upstream Innovation has worked closely with the experts from PETROMAT to design the adsorbent materials which selectively remove chloride gas contaminated in process stream of Aromatics plant. A newly developed adsorbent offers much better chloride removal efficiency at superior to the current adsorbing material. This new adsorbent delivers significant operating cost advantage when compared with the current commercial uses. The adsorbent recipe has been patented as well, allowing GC to benefit for licensing and commercialization in the future.
