GC awards prizes to participants from the 8th Amazing Petrochemical Project under the theme "Hero to Zero, If the World Can Endure, So Can We," competing for a total scholarship fund of 660,000 baht.
Bangkok - August 30, 2023: GC awards prizes in the 8th Amazing Petrochemical Project art competition under the theme "Hero to Zero, If the world can endure, so can we." This year, in addition to colored paintings, there is a debut category for original sculptures created by youth, addressing the joint responsibility for taking care of the world.
Dr. Kongkrapan Intharajang, CEO and President of PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), stated, "GC organized the art competition 'The 8th Amazing Petrochemical Project' aiming to raise awareness among children and youth about the importance of addressing the global warming crisis. The project aims to foster a sense of shared environmental responsibility and promote an understanding of the benefits and value of the petrochemical industry, incorporating the principles of circular practice while aligning with the company's goal of achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, it encourages young individuals to showcase their abilities through creative imagination, innovative thinking, and integrating their knowledge into artworks, including sculpture design and painting."

Each piece of art creatively presents and reflects environmental conservation efforts to protect our planet through skills such as line work, color tones, and the creation of three-dimensional artworks (prototype sculptures); the understanding and importance of collaboration to address the global warming crisis are effectively demonstrated. The artworks also showcase the adaptability required in today's world, emphasizing environmental awareness and the value of resource utilization. "This year marks the 8th edition of the Amazing Petrochemical Art Competition, attracting participation from children and youth who submitted artworks from all regions of Thailand. The judging criteria prioritize the meaningful communication of creating balance for sustainability and addressing the global warming crisis by incorporating the principles of a circular economy. The competition emphasizes utilizing creative ideas, components, and techniques to stand out. Selected artworks submitted by students will be showcased on the PTTGC Facebook page: Amazing Petrochemical."

- First Runner-up, 1st place, a cash prize of 20,000 Baht: Miss Arada Sawasdee, Grade 5, Wichianchom School, Songkhla Province.
- Second Runner-up, 2nd place, a cash prize of 10,000 Baht: Miss Daliya Buaked, Grade 5, Wat Ruak School, Bangkok.
- Consolation Prize, a cash prize of 5,000 each, a total of 9 awards.
- Drawing Competition for Lower Secondary School Level
- First Prize Winner, a cash prize of 30,000 Baht: Miss Boonyisa Chuachaemsai, Grade 8, Kajornrangsan Municipal School, Phuket Province.
- First Runner-up, a cash prize of 20,000 Baht: Miss Achiraya Atthasat, Grade 8, Vichaiwitthaya School, Chiang Mai Province.
