GC received the Distinguished Ethical Organization Award for the year 2023
On Thursday, April 18, 2024, PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) was honored with a plaque by Ms. Laleewan Kanchanachari, the Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Culture. The award recognized GC as an Outstanding Ethical Organization for 2023, particularly for its exemplary management of community waste in Rayong Province through the Community Waste Model project. The ceremony was part of the annual event to present awards to distinguished communities, organizations, districts, and provinces for ethical excellence. It was organized by the Ministry of Culture and managed by the Department of Religious Affairs as the secretariat of the National Moral Promotion Committee. The event occurred in Exhibition Room 5, on the first floor of the National Gallery, Ministry of Culture, Huai Khwang District, Bangkok.
GC, in close collaboration with local communities, temples, and schools, has spearheaded the transformative Community Waste Model project. This initiative, powered by the GC YOUTurn platform, not only manages plastic waste from its origin to its final disposal but also fosters a sense of responsibility for both plastic products and their consumption. The project's success is evident in its ability to collect used plastic bottles, process them at ENVICCO, the company's globally recognized plastic recycling facility, and in turn, create employment opportunities for the community. With plans underway to expand this project to other communities, GC is poised to make an even greater impact across the country.
This award is a resounding endorsement of GC's steadfast commitment to equity and its proactive efforts in fostering and developing ethics within the organization. It not only recognizes the company's adherence to ethical principles in religious contexts but also its governance and care for the community and the environment in a sustainable manner. This recognition underscores GC's belief that such initiatives can spark positive behavioral changes, heighten awareness, and foster a conscientious approach to environmental management, thereby contributing to a better and more sustainable society.
