GC delivers plastic row boats to the Royal Thai Navy to help flood victims
GC responded to help mitigate the impacts out of concern for those impacted by flooding which occurred in many areas of Thailand affecting countless communities. On October 29, 2021, Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, Chief Executive Officer, together with Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding, GC, joined together to present 55 plastic row boats to Admiral Somprasong Ninsamai, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy at the Office of the Naval Commander, Thai Royal Navy Headquarters (former palace) to help people affected by the floods which took place nationwide.
The row boats are made from GC's LLDPE compound using a rotational molding process, which ensures durability, flexibility and impact resistance helping to mitigate any scratches and breakage. They are also UV resistant allowing for extended use outdoors. The row boat is 3-meters in length, 90 centimeters wide and weighs 35 kilograms and can seat 2-3 people (200 kilograms). It is also recyclable in the event of any damage or prolonged wear and tear.
