GC announced its operating results for the third quarter of 2021 with total sales revenue of 112,173 million baht, a slight increase over Q2/21, and a 47% increase compared to Q3/2020, because of price increases and higher sales volume. Operating profit was 8,657 million baht and total net profit was 7,005 million baht (1.56 baht/share), a 72% decrease from the second quarter of 2021.
In addition, Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding, gave a special presentation on the topic of “Net Zero,” emphasizing goals for decarbonization to achieve Net Zero by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 20% by 2030. The goal to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 is based on three key approaches: 1. Efficiency-driven: Reduce GHG by 20% by improving current and future production processes to minimize GHG emissions and implement advanced technology; 2. Portfolio-driven: 25% GHG reduction through future business restructuring with a focus on environmentally friendly, low-carbon businesses such as biochemicals, green, and recycling businesses; and 3. Compensation-driven: 55% GHG reduction by residual carbon offset with a variety of high-performance approaches and technologies.
