On February 18, 2020, the National Olympic Committee of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King, organized a press conference for the 2020 Olympic Day Walk and Run to mark the founding of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and promote the Olympic Movement in keeping with the IOC’s policy guidelines. The activity took place on March 1, 2020 at the National Stadium of Thailand in Bangkok with an aim to promote and encourage individuals of all ages and genders to recognize the importance of exercise for good and sustainable health. Around 8,000 people attended the event.

This year, the National Olympic Committee of Thailand is implementing a strict policy to reduce the use of plastic containers and recycling some types of plastic to address climate change. Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding, GC, attended the press conference at Siam Paragon as GC is one of the main sponsors of the event.
