GC, TISI, and SCG Sign an MoU to Advance Circular Economy Measures in Thailand’s Industrial Sector through BCG policies
GC is committed to operating according to the principles of the Circular Economy. On November 16, 2020, the company highlighted its commitment to continue working with both the public and private sectors when Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to "Promote Circular Economy Standards within the Industrial Sector in Response to the Government's Bio Circular Green (BCG) Economic Model." The MoU aims to support the Thai industrial sector by reducing environmental impacts throughout the supply chain while providing an improved quality of life in line with the government's Bio Circular Green (BCG) economic model. Mr. Suriya Jungrungreangkit, Minister of Industry, along with representatives from the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), and Siam Cement Group (SCG), presided over the MoU signing ceremony which took place at the Grand Ballroom, Century Park Hotel, Bangkok.
"GC continues to effectively initiate projects in response to the BCG model in all dimensions and is promoting the principles of the circular economy in line with the operations of TISI while disseminating knowledge to over 1,200 representatives of industry sectors and business operators throughout Thailand, so they apply these principles in their business operations. In addition, we have initiated follow-up methods and assessments, as well as project implementation to evaluate the effectiveness and potential for further expansion," said Dr. Chaya.
