GC Announces the Winners of the 5th ‘Amazing Petrochemicals’ Painting Contest under the Circular Living concept and a Holds a Workshop to Exhibit Mixed Media Art made from Plastic
GC announced the winners of the 5th ‘Amazing Petrochemicals’ painting contest at the secondary and high school levels together with a special prize, the CEO’s Choice, which perfectly responds to the Circular Living concept and was selected by Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, Chief Executive Officer. He also presented 40 awards to all of the winners. Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Corporate Branding was also in attendance and served as one of the judges. The event, which took place on November 19, 2019 at Toyota Buzz, Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Bangkok, incorporated a workshop to exhibit mixed media artwork made from plastic and involved the collaboration of youth, parents and teachers with the theme of “GC Circular Living for a Better World.”
1st Prize: Mr. Wannarat Rakprom
1st Runner-up: Ms. Vipavee Rattanamanee
2nd Runner-up: Mr. Anant Wongsilp
Dr. Kongkrapan said, “GC organized the 5th “Miracle of Petrochemicals” painting contest which is open to young people and the public, and aims to increase awareness and understanding of the petrochemical industry while helping our youth to unleash their abilities by channeling their imaginations, general knowledge, and creative ideas into painting. This year, the contest adopted the theme of “Circular Living”, which involves the efficient use of resources by creating value-added products through the upcycling process.”
Young people nationwide submitted a total of 1,051 paintings in the contest this year. The judges focused on three criteria: Communications about Circular Living, Creative Ideas, and Distinctive Compositions and Painting Techniques. All of the participating and award-winning paintings will be exhibited at the Energy Complex (EnCo) building, and GC’s Rayong office, as well as through the online exhibit at Facebook PTTGC: มหัศจรรย์ปิโตรเคมี
