Mrs. Atchaka Sribunruang, Director-General, Department of Industrial Promotion, presided in the opening of ASEAN Federation of Plastic Industries (AFPI) Conference held on October 21st, 2014 at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao. The conference was joined by Athavudhi Hirunburana, Chief Operating Office Downstream Petrochemical Business, PTTGC, as Chairman of Asian Plastic Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries. AFPI Conference was participated by 7 ASEAN member countries, namely Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Vietnam, aimed to encourage trade collaboration, improve potential of plastic industry, and solidify entrepreneurial network and cooperation to ensure strong and stable performance of plastic entrepreneurs amidst the upcoming AEC in 2016. The conference was also an important opportunity for private sector to conduct business-to-business (B2B) matching, in which in-depth information about trade situation, economic condition, technology, and environmental management pertaining to plastic industry would be communicated and possibly collected for the formation of business plans. Thailand agreed to host AFPI for the period 2012-2014. The conference was attended by approximately 200 plastic entrepreneurs both from Thailand and other member countries.
