PTT Global Chemical Group continues its construction of the Enclosed Ground Flare project of 2 sets under the budget of Baht 500 million within the production area in Rayong Province in order to enhance the quality of environment for the community and society surrounding. This is to insist the PTT Global Chemical Group as a leader of petrochemical business and the organization of innovation with responsibility toward the community, society, and environment.

Mr. Bowon Vongsinudom, President of PTT Global Chemical said that the company had continued the Enclosed Ground Flare project which was one of the company's CSR in process projects in Rayong Plant in order to enhance the quality of environment and the living quality of the community within the area. This is to confide the harmony living between the company and the community. The company had performed the foundation stone laying on 12 September 2012 at PTTPE plant in Padang Industrial Estate, Nongfab Community, Rayong Province. The project is expected to be completed and ready for commission within June 2013.

The construction of the Enclosed Ground Flare is the investment project with modern technology which helps complete the hydrocarbon burning from the production process, leading to lower emission of smoke, light, noise, and heat from the flare to the atmosphere. This will help to decrease the impact on the nearby community. The burning process is performed within the chamber at the ground level with over a hundred of burners installed in the chamber and the wall inside the chamber is covered with the heat and sound insulation. The base at the bottom is designed with the complete air flow system which leads to a complete burning process.

PTT Polyethylene plant, under PTT Global Chemical Group, is a producer of the linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) with the production capacity of 400,000 tons per year and the low density polyethylene (LDPE) with the production capacity of 300,000 tons per year. The products are used to produce daily products such as film for covering product, consumer product packaging, and plastic ware for food and drink, which are convenient for the daily life.
