PTTGC meets with securities analysts and financial institutions (Analyst Meeting) and press (Media Meeting) No. 3/2017 to announce the net profit reaching almost 10 billion THB
Mr. Supattanapong Punmeechaow, President and Chief Executive Officer of PTT Global Chemical PLC, together with Ms. Duangkamol Settanung, Executive Vice President – Finance and Accounting and Mr. Saroj Putthammawong, Senior Vice President – Marketing, Commercial and Supply, announced the overview business and operating performance of Q3/2017 in the Analyst Meeting No. 3/2017. In this regard, the Company's net profit in Q3/2017 was 9,955 million THB (equivalent to 2.23 THB per share), increasing by 60% from 6,226 million THB (equivalent to 1.40 THB per share) in Q3/2016 as well as increasing from 6,603 million THB (equivalent to 1.48 THB per share) in Q2/2017. The net profit generated during the first 9 months of 2017 amounted to 29,740 million THB, improving by 88% from the same period of time in 2016.
For the operating performance during the first 9 months of 2017, 2,010 million THB was generated by MAX project, mainly from the improvement of organization’s efficiency which has been started since the end of last year. In addition, the shares of profits from investments in affiliated and joint venture companies increased due to that the Company acquired shares of 6 companies in the petrochemical, propylene, biochemical and related-service businesses from PTT Public Company Limited. The acquisition was completed on 3 July 2017 and resulted in an increase in shares of profits by 1,518 million THB as well as the gain on foreign exchange. Consequently, the Company’s total net profit was 29,740 million THB, increasing by 88% from the same period of time in 2016. At the same time, the special lecture on Market Outlook 2018 was held by Mr. Pisit Thanavuthiwat, Senior Market Analyst from Market Intelligence department.
